We designed and manufactured the Data Logger CVF2 from about 1995 to 2020. It featured 8 isolated analog (voltage or current) 16 bit input channels and 1 frequency (counter) channel. It had its own CPU, RAM, and battery and was easily hand-carried. When designed, the easiest way to perform communication and reasonably fast data transfer to a computer was through a parallel port. This was long before the existence of USB ports and embedded networking. Because parallel ports were discontinued in computers and also DCS systems eventually developed better data collection and trending tools, the product was discontinued. Note that Analyse-Plus still fully supports this product, allowing data collection and full control of the DataLogger CVF2.
